INSPIRATION

for

WERREGUE LAMPS
Inspiration for our Werregue Collection Lamps is born from the lush jungles of northern Colombia. Woven by hand and colored with herbs native to the San Juan River delta, they’re a reimagination of centuries-old vessels created by the Wounaan tribe.
Each piece is a full month in the making. Once harvested, the fibers are left to dry in the sun and individually hand rubbed to bestow a distinctive sheen. A central cord — the soul of the basket — is then twisted in a spiral formation, which thinner fibers then carefully embrace. The process yields an object of remarkable strength, something dense enough to carry water.
The beauty of our Werregue Collection is a marriage of the durable and the bold — the exact and the organic — a mix of contrasts representing both balance and harmony.
