About L’AVIVA
Materials are active participants in shaping form. Through long-term collaboration with skilled workshops and makers, we work within established techniques while allowing space for variation, experimentation, and evolution—tradition functioning not as reference, but as a working methodology that informs proportion, structure, and restraint.
Based between New York and Mexico City, the studio operates across contexts and cultures, with proximity to both contemporary design practice and deeply rooted making traditions. This dual presence shapes how we work: attentive, iterative, and grounded in daily, hands-on exchange.
