Each Atzompa pendant is formed in custom gesso molds and meticulously cut by hand, one opening at a time. The repeating openwork structure defines the silhouette and casts shifting light and shadow.

IN THE WORKSHOP
The Atzompa Collection is created in the Oaxacan town of Santa María Atzompa, where pottery traditions trace back to ancient Zapotec culture. We partner with master artisan Eligio Zarate, whose family has worked for generations to evolve this ceramic practice.
The patterns reference carvings found at Mitla, one of Oaxaca’s significant archaeological sites. Each piece is available in brushed white wash, emerald-hued glaze, or natural terra cotta.
