Inspired by the Khovar murals of Hazaribagh, this collection reflects the region’s rich clay-based art traditions. In Khovar paintings, the clays hold symbolic meanings tied to spirituality, rituals, and nature.
In the local language, “mati” means clay, and Charak Mati is a soft, creamy white that symbolizes purity and light, reflecting the pale kaolin clay used in the murals.
Leadtime 5-6 weeks, printing is to order. Rush printing is available.
Our partners in this collection, the women from the Tribal Women Artists Cooperative (TWAC), receive a royalty for each yard sold.
