The design of this piece is representative of one of the many styles of fishing hooks used by the Wounaan. As ‘people of the water’, the Wounaan are dependent upon what the river provides, and tools such as this are essential to their daily lives. The individual anzuelos are placed in the water overnight, and then collected—along with their catch—come morning.
Given the nature and story of these Werregue palm pendants, the tightly woven fiber results in an opaque shade, with a focused spot light emanating from the bottom mouth of the fixture.
Leadtime 1-2 weeks.
Each pendant is one-of-a-kind.
Material samples for all lighting collections are available for purchase. We also offer samples on loan for 30 days—to request a loan, email us here.

The design depicts a tambo, a communal house in the village used for meetings and ceremonial events. Featured in repeat is the sloping roof of the structure, and the black point represents the “eye” of the smoke coming from the ceremonial fire.
The woven fiber produces an opaque shade; light exits as a focused downward beam from the open base.
Each pendant is one-of-a-kind.
Lead time 1–2 weeks
